First, make sure that your live show is picture perfect and worthy of a good review. Then I would say contact a local music zine (around here we have LA Weekly and OC Weekly, that sorta thing) and perhaps ask them which shows they review, or if they want to check out a show you're participating in. There ya go.

Play out at least once a month in different local venues. For bigger shows, send out a press pack(pictures, a demo cd) to local newspapers and entertainment mags and zines. Make sure they're online, with both a web site and a myspace.

Gotta build a follow and demand. do as many shows as possible. get on as many website as possible. that is get way to get signed the A&R watch certain websites and to see how many hit a artist get or how many people download there music, find a promoter and ask if he can throw a listening party for you! CREATE YOU OWN BUZZZZZ!!!!! THEY WILL COME TO YOU.Go to billboard.com, ascap.com, taxi.com to find out what kind of events is going on or you can enter.
